In my last few weeks of helping people choose paint colours, I’ve of course spent time talking to people from all different walks of life, with different homes, and different tastes.

Too bad it was about 5 years ago..Putting together some new bedding has been so fun for me, but it definitely adds up even if you find a lot of bargains.. It’s definitely worth it though for me.I love feeling a little more at peace with the world in general when I walk into this room.. There’s one more fun little update that we’ve done in here recently too, and it’s made a big impact.

I’ll have that for you later this week!I just love this Back to School time of year.It’s like a second New Year’s Day for me where I feel like it’s time to get things organized, make big plans, and just generally have a fresh start.

With the new baby on the way at the end of the year, I’m definitely motivated to get our household running smoothly..

So I made a list!Because I do enjoy modern style and conveniences too, when the time is right, I went with a pretty modern-looking tub and a really sleek toilet, which you’ll see in my next bathroom post.. Another tip for choosing a style that I love is to look at the exterior of your home when choosing the really eye-catching fixtures that will really dictate the overall “feel” of the room.

Take your cues from the style of your home’s exterior (or how you want your home’s exterior to look if you’re in the middle of renovating that too) and go with that.We live in an old Victorian style farmhouse, so choosing fixtures that make sense for a house of that style and from that period, helps bring kind of a cohesive feel to the overall design of our house.

Well, it’s a pretty rustic/basic Victorian style farmhouse right now on the outside, but I’m hoping to bring a little more polish to it eventually!So that’s what I went with.
